To Being Famous
Okay so famous might be a little bit of an overstatement, but I felt like this video needed a blog so I would not forget it (or the links, really). One of my friends in Public Relations at Tulane emailed me and the other student interns about an opportunity to shoot a video for a segment on Good Morning America titled "3 Little Words". I thought for about 3 seconds before I was like, "Duh, I gotta do this and it's gotta be clever" (I know, really great grammar for a recent college grad, sorry Mom!). So I spent my last shift of work at the President's Office crafting my masterpiece. I knew that I probably wasn't the only grad anxious about not yet having a job so "Hire Me Please" seemed like the only way to go, and I hoped that it would be clever enough to make the cut. Another genius idea seemed to be to put the words on my resume, so I did. After running from Hobs' cocktail hour to the Tulane sign, speeding through crowds of people in my wedges (I was five minutes late), and gasping some excuse to security as to why I needed to get through the barriers without a ticket, I made it! They filmed me. It was glorious! I left saying one of my newfound phrases, "It's out of my hands and into God's" and hoping that I would not have a double chin on the camera, since it adds 5 pounds ya know. Then Ethan and I took our photo shoot on the Tulane sign with both of our families and it felt like there was enough paparazzi there to make us famous, so with or without GMA I was a happy girl.
Anyways, after a long, crazy tour of the Chateau de Versailles my family decided that we needed an American sized cup of joe and went to the nearest Starbucks. Thank goodness it had wi-fi so I naturally checked my email and I WAS PICTURED IN THE TULANE NEW WAVE EMAIL. That was my level of excitement just for that because all of Tulane (who bothered to open their emails) saw me! Then I opened the email and saw that Tulane had made a video montage of all of us who submitted and linked to the Good Morning America clip. My heart was racing, did I make it? After the longest 15 minutes of my life, we finally got the video to load and come to find out, I DID MAKE IT! 3 seconds of fame ladies and gentleman. Maybe I am a little bit too excited about this, sorry in advance, but enjoy!!
