To Being Home

I am writing this from my deck.  It is a beautiful day, the sun is out and it rained earlier so everything smells so fresh.  My belly is full of grilled brats and homemade potato salad thanks to my parents and I have spent the day snuggling with the pups and reading my book.  Life is good.  I literally would not change one thing right now.

Ethan and I returned from Milan Sunday evening and I cannot tell you how good it was to be back in home sweet USA.  Don't get me wrong the three week European adventure was incredible, awesome, joyous, fantastic, you get the point, but there is nothing better than the feeling of being home (and actually understanding what people around you are saying and being able to read the signs to know where to go)!

Lucky for me I will get to enjoy being home for one more week.  This week I will catch up on sleep, hopefully re-adjust to the timezone, read, watch movies, snuggle with my pups, apply for jobs, eat home cooked meals, and just enjoy my last week of summer... forever.  Then, I will be trotting off to Hilton Head for a few days before it is time to create a home of my own.

Being here has made me so thankful of the home that my parents have given me for the last 22 years.  Living away from home most of the last four years has made me even more grateful of this home and I know that my parents habits have rubbed off on me in more ways than one.  However, being here has made me realize that I am ready to make a new home, my own home.

For now,
Lindsay

PS. I am also vowing to blog every day while I am home so I can reflect and share my European adventures.  It was so action packed and busy that I will definitely need to spend some time looking at my pictures and reflecting to fully conceptualize the opportunity and all of the things that we were fortunate enough to see!
